BSC 70 Linz Badminton Sport Club

Club

Who we are

We are a badminton club in Linz. Since 1970. We train three times a week, play in the Landesliga, and teach kids badminton in schools. No pressure, no obligation at your first training – just badminton.

History

Founded on 3 February 1970. By the 80s we were in the Bundesliga, in 1988 came the first national title. In 1992 BSC 70 Feibra Linz became the first and only Austrian club to win the European Cup of Champions. That was the highlight.

After that: more titles, strong youth development, new players. Over 50 years without interruption in the Bundesliga – until the deliberate step back to the Landesliga in 2024. Not because we had to, but because the club shifted its focus: more youth, more recreational sport, more community.

Achievements

  • European Cup Winners 1992 – the only Austrian club ever
  • 7x Austrian National Team Champions
  • 15x Upper Austria Regional Champions (BSC 70 Linz II)
  • Numerous individual and doubles titles at national and regional level
  • Senior World and European Championship medals for our players
